The four elements that define Alhamas are: hand-sewn espadrilles, made in Spain, sustainable and respectful materials, and super comfortable.

The espadrilles came about in response to a demand from farmers. A simple product that could be handmade at home, using humble raw materials from their own work in the fields.

Espadrilles are the type of footwear that preserves the most traditional processes and keeps them as they were on the first day, adapting them to the present. The brand continues to sew the espadrilles by hand, the “remonte” (as it is called in Cervera) is the most characteristic touch of Alhamas, and the process retains 100% of its essence, which is maintained in La Rioja region.

The hand stitching required for these espadrilles is still based on the same tools used by our grandparents: the needle and the slipper.

As the brand states: ‘100 stitches from the heart make each espadrille unique, just like you’.

Chie Mihara launched her shoe brand in Elda (Spain) in January 2002. Her aim was to offer women something different, shoes designed by a woman for a woman, with a focus on design and comfort.

Her collections tell the story of a multicultural journey. Chie was born in Brazil into a Japanese family. At 18 she moved to Japan where she studied fashion design and worked for Junko Koshino, one of Japan’s leading avant garde designers. In New York she studied sculpture and soon found a way to mix her art with fashion in the form of shoes. This allowed her to work for the prestigious Charles Jourdan brand, until she moved to Spain where her eponymous label was born.

Brazilian femininity, Japanese precision, American practicality and Spanish handwork come together to form every Chie Mihara shoe, bag and garment.

Brother and sister Mila and Pedro García are the third generation to lead this family shoemaking firm. Mila holds the CEO post, while Pedro is the brand’s creative director.

They took over the reins from their father, who was also named Pedro García, as was their grandfather, who founded the firm in 1925.

All the brand’s shoes are made at its own factory, located where the family firm was founded, and where it remains to this day: Elda, a town with a long tradition of shoemaking, in the Mediterranean region of Alicante.

Every phase of production can be closely monitored by the company’s creative directors, which is what makes their unique design process possible. The combination of the designers’ talent and the skilled hands of the artisans turns the factory into a genuine “design laboratory,” where experimentation continues until the perfect aesthetic solution is found.

Ever since Pedro García opened his first shoe-making workshop in 1925, all the company’s footwear has been manufactured in Elda. This is why the “Made in Spain” pledge is part of its corporate identity. In recognition of this guarantee of quality, the company is committed to ensuring that 100% of its commercial activity has a positive impact on the local economy.

A contemporary design brand, made in Spain.

Unmistakable designs, uniquely textured materials, unique accessories and endless little details.

Pertini’s origins date back to 1953, when Francisco López, the current president of Pertini, got his first job in a footwear company. It was always clear to him that shoes would define his life and that one day he would create his own footwear company. Years later he met Manuel Tárraga, a talented shoemaker who was passionate about shoes and who also had the same dream: to create his own shoe company.

For decades, the two worked very successfully in the shoe industry. With the experience gained over the years, Mr. López offered his friend Mr. Tárraga a partnership. Thus, in 1982, the two decided to found their own company in the town of Almansa under the Pertini brand name. The brand soon distinguished itself both for its innovative designs and the high quality of its creations.

At first, Pertini was dedicated to innovation in the design of classic Spanish footwear. The result was a unique, unmistakable and highly attractive product that quickly gained wide international recognition.

The company expanded and in 2006, the partners opened a second factory, also located in Almansa, dedicated to the creation of high-quality Goodyear Welted footwear under the Cordwainer brand.

Over the years, Pertini has never stopped reinventing itself. The design, quality and constant innovation of its manufacturing processes have boosted the brand’s international presence in major fashion capitals such as Paris, London, New York and many others.

Design, fashion and trends change from season to season. Its design team, together with the innate talent of its creative director, makes it possible for Pertini to stay one step ahead of trends.

Pertini has become an internationally recognised luxury contemporary design brand.

Cristóbal Balenciaga Tribute - Francisco Carrera Iglesias “Paquili”

A love story of embroidery

Paquili is a man devoted to a passion. Quality, excellence, commitment, but above all love are the DNA of his profession and of his person. A demanding and committed love, like all real and true love.

Stitch by stitch, section by section, without haste but without pause, Paquili has been embroidering his passion for embroidery.

Art and magic at the service of the best tradition, the one that is always open to knowledge and innovative creativity, the classic one, because what is really classic is only that which never goes out of fashion.

Art to make pieces that last and remain with the vigour of eternal privilege. Magic to nourish that weft of past, present and future that serves as a frame for the desired reality: the piece that becomes forever a timeless dream.

The most devoted cofrades, the most demanding customers, lovers of good taste, the best designers and the best firms have passed through the hands of a man who opened his workshop and his soul back in 1984. All of them had the same objective, that Paquili would embroider them measured, precise, excellent pieces, but above all that he would weave their dreams for them. And she has succeeded and continues to do so.

Immerse yourself in Paquili’s work, an open-hearted feeling of a good man who began to embroider out of devotion, of a man devoted to a passion, of a man whose only needle that has resisted being threaded to this day is his overflowing love for making other people’s dreams come true through his art and his craft.

Come and feel.

Cristóbal Balenciaga Tribute - Jesús Rosado Bordados

Born in Écija, Seville, Jesús Rosado Borja was the only child apprentice in the sewing workshop of the nuns of the city. Since then, he has gone from being an atypical character in that feminine universe to become one of its greatest bastions and defenders.

Today, more than three decades later, she runs one of the most reputed and respected traditional embroidery and needle painting workshops in Spain, with commissions that go beyond Spanish borders.

From the most deeply-rooted sacred tradition to the latest avant-garde in interior design and fashion, his works speak for themselves for their high quality, attention to detail and the passion put into each and every one of them.

An artisan, as he likes to call himself, runs the studio-workshop that receives hundreds of projects for new creations and restorations. The latter, as the artist acknowledges, are perhaps more complex because of the need to stick to a previous artist and the exhaustive historical-artistic study required.

Cristóbal Balenciaga Tribute - Mariana Barturen

Graduated from Parson’s School of Design in New York and after 6 years living in the Big Apple, she set up her atelier in Madrid.

Immersed in ‘fashion’, she focuses all her attention on custom-made headwear; by appointment with the client; she works on each piece by hand and made-to-measure, she is the ‘haute couture’ of headwear.

The genius of a headdress lies in the resources learned over thirty years to be able to adapt to the client, to her outfit, and to achieve with this accessory a perfect ‘look’.

Mariana Barturen is a renowned milliner dedicated to the manufacture of hats and headdresses, from the composition of a historical piece of props, to the design and manufacture of a unique piece for a catwalk, cinema, theatre or final client for an event.

This hat shop is extended with a silk flower and plumage workshop with the same tools, craft and technique of the 1940s, through which the flowers of designers and fashion houses such as Balenciaga have passed.

For more than 20 years they have been supplying designers, production companies, cinema and theatre with unique pieces that require these trades, which they maintain in their workshops.

Cristóbal Balenciaga Tribute - Teresa de la Pisa

The alpaca and brass flowers made by the sculptor-jeweller Teresa De la Pisa are moulded and made in a completely artisan process, hammering the alpaca to give it shape without heat. This is the artist’s own technique.

Her passion for nature leads her to transmit this inspiration in metal through these flowers and leaves.
